Highway/route advice: Washington DC

Am going south down 95 through DC tomorrow (Sunday) with a loaded trailer. I came up the west side of 495 today and it was awful. Tons of construction, delays, lane shifts, no shoulder. Don't want to tow through it. Is the east side of 495 fixed now? I've been avoiding it for years due to construction.

Suggestions welcome!!

Over the Wilson Bridge? Yes. It's certainly better than going over the Cabin John/American Legion bridge. The drive through the Tyson's area with a trailer would be excruciating.
