Commercial outdoor pool/? enclosures...
Anybody have experience with large outdoor pool/? enclosures? The pool I'm thinking about is 20 x 50 meters. The enclosure would have a permanent roof, need to be 8-10' larger than the pool so that people can walk around it, have double doors to go in and out, have soft sides that can be rolled up or removed in good/warm weather, ventilation capabilty, let light in and ballpark cost.
Has anyone got ideas, tips, experience with these? I've done a Google search, but want to tap the PPOT brain trust. |

I guess your standard FL type pool enclosure is not what you are looking for?

I'm not sure what a typical FL enclosure looks like. One more thing: it will need to be designed for hurricane and seismic codes here.

I am also interested in this. We have a 16x32 in ground. We have decided to look into the possibility of enclosing it and possibly tying in into the house

Just about everyone in S Florida has one, pool or not. Not conducive to an area that gets any real snow. If you are looking for something that will let you use the pool year round these won't help.

^^^ That's the idea, but it would be for year round use IIRC.
The size makes it a challenge. |

Just realized you are talking about a big azzzz pool.
20x50 meters, ~60x150 ft? Is this a school? Community pool? I would think it would need a more proper building built around it. That's a lot of sq ft to try and keep warm in the winter.

I don't think I'd like a pool in the summer with a 'roof' on it.
Fl enclosures are to keep out bugs, right? We have pool in the summer, a Hot tub for the winter. |

Yes, it's BIG community pool.
Ideally, a new permanent enclosed pool would be ideal, but it's not in the cards right now. This is an interim step. |

Plan for mucho oversized ventilation. Very few indoor Olympic sized pools here in so cal but the one new one had to rip out all the hvac and start over after just a few years. They are very humid when indoors.
