Pressure Washer Question

We have a Honda powered DeVilbis(Excell) 2600 pressure washer. It run great, but the pressure drops off within a second of pulling the trigger on the high pressure wand. There do not appear to be any adjustments on the pump, not can I see a pressure relief. Any idea why the pressure would drop off so fast?

Does it drop off and stay low? If my pump is running and there is air in the supply line (garden hose) it will shoot out a hard stream until it hits an air bubble, then the pressure drops until the bubble is pumped out, then the pressure comes back until another air bubble hits. It takes forever to pump out an air bubble.

We've had luck just taking the pumps apart and putting them back together.

Sometimes the valves and springs just get a little debris lodged in them or get a little out of whack from the vibrations. Worth a shot.

Manufacturer says it's the "unloader". New one is $21. Worth a shot. Thanks guys.

Easy fix, Clean and lube the Shuttle Valve, By Pass or Pressure valve What ever you want to call it. Possibly shoot some LPS, WD 40 or lube in the brass valve the discharge hose connects to. Shoot some lube in it before you store it . UNLOADED Same fix.

I had a few blades of grass from the garden hose clog up the screen. Once cleaned it was back to full pressure.

Pressure washers can have issues when they are left running without engaging the trigger for anymore than 2 min. what happens is the pump gets hot and cracks the ceramic plungers inside the valve body. you will need a seal kit along with the plungers there should be 3
