Educate me about A Mercedes C300

Saw one at the dealership ( a 2010 ) for around 20,000 with 50K miles.
I've always heard they are well built, but never had the pleasure.

Expensive for upkeep?

Thoughts?

Subscribing for ulterior motives.

I purchased a CPO 2014 C300 4-Matic a month ago and will be keenly interested to what is said. FWIW, I paid <$31k and it has 9k miles with warranty through 2020.
So far it has been an absolute pleasure to drive.

That is a great price, Gary.

My wife has a 2012 C250 Sport. The Sport models are much stiffer than the Luxury models. I'd opt for a luxury next time around. The car has had a squealing/dragging brake issue since new, but after 11 times at the dealership, I believe its finally fixed. A couple of issues with the motor, but everything else has been very solid and reliable. Car now has 28K on it. They are nice, fairly simple cars.

I rented one when my BMW decided to grenade the rear end. Solid car, but felt disconnected to the road, way overassisted steering. Compared to my E39 it felt and drove like a Japanese car- light and numb- a Benz feels weighted. Interior materials are basic, The bluetooth, etc. etc is nice stereo sounds decent.

If you plan on keeping it for awhile, Just be scared of the electronics- my Benz mechanic in AZ (when I had my C36) told me about various horror stories of keys getting stuck in ignitions, and switch failures. Probably won't be an issue for a few years, I would imagine.

Yes, indeed.

I was quoted the surprisingly low price over the phone and four days later when driving the 90 minutes to see the car in Bellevue, I was fully expecting a bait-switch in play and was willing to walk. The dealer internet rep remembered the quote, found the paperwork, admitted he was chastised by the sales manager for the price but was told to honor it. I was looking at Subaru Outbacks for the same money and Cadillac ATS/Audi A4 for more. It was a ridiculously easy decision.

My wife got a CPO 2011 luxury version in late 2013. It's been trouble-free and she likes it a lot. I've driven it a few times and agree with the above - solid feeling and decently quick, but boring.

We have a 2013 C300 Sport 4MATIC 3.5l 6cyl – I think the models are slightly different in the US – as my wife’s DD. Bought new 1 ˝ years ago on sale & zero problems. My wife can blindly commute to work in it & yet when I pound on it, it responds very nicely. It is very quiet which makes it really easy to exceed the posted unwittingly. The Eco engine turn-off is bizarre at first but it can be disabled at any time.

I quite like the car at this point.

The best car I have ever owned was a 92' 300CE with a 3.0L DOHC motor than sounded and pulled like an old-school American V-8...at 253,000 miles, I had to let her go.

They are slower than 2001 Tundras.

Nightmares to work on unless you're a dealer.

I'd never buy a Mercedes.
