The "Music Room"

Our home has a 1100sq ft basement that has a suite in it, full kitchen, full 4 piece bath, two bedrooms and small den.... We have used it as storage space for the last year since we moved in. No plans to rent it, but we will keep the kitchen for resale purposes... We have 2400 more feet on the main and upstairs so we have not needed the room. But we figured it was time to get busy...

First project is the "Music Room". My son who is 9 plays guitar (as do I, but I am a hack) and I have played drums for over 30 years (as well as a few brass instruments). Always found peace and relaxation playing music and being around instruments. We thought it would be cool to put a room together just for playing music, and for my son to bring his freinds to who are also learning to play....

We are almost done, still need to fine tune the drum alignments and mount one more guitar on the wall. We also have a bit more art comming for it as well.

Paint, baseboards, crowns, curtains and some hardware....

Can't decide if this or my Son's "Mario Bros" room is my favourite!

Cheers

Very cool! We need to do something similar at our house. I have a Slingerland kit and a Roland VDrum kit, baby grand piano, 3 keyboards, 5 or 6 guitars, mandolin, ukelele, cello and several other instruments in our house. When anyone walks into our house, they know immediately what we're all into!

I never have trusted those wooden based hangars with my jewels. I will shoot you some pics of what i create to hang my guitars from. Nice room my good man. My son and I have a smaller music room with soundproofing on the walls and ceiling. Oh yes, we get down with our bad selves in there!
