More like 3 steps. :D Engergy-wise, the .500 out of an 8" barrel can hang with .45-70 out of a rifle barrel.

Recoil is fun. "Fun", IMHO, is perfectly sufficient reason to own any spoon in any caliber one wishes.

I see OJU is yelling again but I'm not sure what about. I suspect he soils his panties every time he sees a bullet diameter larger than .452"!! ;)

I don't find the .44 mag all that bad, but it's the baby of my bunch. Even though I've had it 15+ years it's never seen the use of the ones I've owned twice as long and am more comfortable with. I simply don't shoot any of then enough anymore :(.

$2.25/round, dang.... I fire my Marlin 30:30 once in a while and that is enough kick for me.

Looks like fun!

Ben, Looks like you had fun! We also went to the local range on Friday and we shot the Walther PP (.32), the Colt 1903 (.32) and my wife's Ruger LCP (.380). Beth like the Colt and Walther but she liked the Walther the best and I loved shooting my Colt 1903!
