typical vette guys.

Pazuzu 11-30-2011 08:35 PM

All of you are missing the key point...

Colorblindness is a genetic deformation.
Texas doesn't allow deformed freaks.
Therefore, we invented traffic light to wipe out all deformed freaks.

If you happen to be colorblind or a deformed freak, and take what I said seriously, then you are also banned from Texas... :p

not really much of a street race..but it does point to the fact that people with phone cameras are everywhere! and, any type of high performance sports car is liable to be in the public eye within seconds of an interesting event or mishap. so....driver beware!! this coming from the driver of a Porsche widebody with way to much horsepower!!

You've never been to Lubbock or worse the towns along the way to Lubbock.

I'm a native Texan and can't stand our drivers. My fellow co-workers put their foot down (as if they are trying to brake for me) and grab the OS handle when they ride with me. They are horrible drivers.

However, I grew up in Dallas, drive or get the fuch off the road is the mantra. One of my college roommates (a Tennessean) had to get off the road, and pass the keys when we got to Dallas. He couldn't take it anymore. I've never seen a Marine so white knuckled in my life.

huh. my driving experience in texas, austin, was 180 degrees from the above. the most polite drivers i have ever been around. when i put my blinker on, they let me merge, etc. i was blown away.

anyway, that video of the corvettes is priceless. kinda reminds me of the prius that beat me off the line. comedy.

or anywhere in the "Barefoot Triangle" on the NE side of Houston. BFT is bordered by Porter Heights, New Caney and Splendora, so named due to the fact that people coming to the ER listing a home address from the BFT were generally shoeless.

Interesting aside, the toothbrush was invented there. This is confirmed by the fact that if it were invented anywhere else, it would have been called a "teethbrush."

Possibly funny, somewhat related note. This is a road that I drive daily on the way in to work in the morning.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1324149237.jpg

I come from the lower left, turn left at the light and then take this "S" curved ramp to the frontage road before getting on the freeway. I generally pass someone on the way to the frontage, but you have to be careful because the surface is quite slick and the hardest acceleration is usually at the very beginning in the curve. Especially on days like yesterday that were quite cool and very damp from overnight fog.

Yesterday morning, I noticed several police cars and a couple of tow trucks in the lots off of this "ramp". Upon further inspection, I noticed that one of the cars was a C6 that was pretty banged up. This morning I noticed lots of tire black on the outside (top) curve. If i had to guess, I'd say that the guy tried to get on it, got sideways, and kissed the curb before losing control.

There have been some occasions (with more favorable weather conditions) where I was the only one on the ramp and under hard acceleration felt the rear get a bit loose. I'm guessing that V-8 torque came out and bit the guy.

Update on the corvettes. They've been charged with a felony, wow, that sucks.

Another driver recorded the two Corvettes as they sped off on The Woodlands Parkway near FM 2978 on Thanksgiving morning. In slow motion, you can see the Corvette on the right loses control and smashes into the Corvette on the left sending it deep into the woods.

It was originally thought to be just an accident, but after reviewing the video, both drivers have now been charged with a third degree felony of racing on highway causing bodily injury.

Witnesses said they saw the two Corvettes revving their engines while waiting for a light to turn green, then driving recklessly and speeding in and out of traffic.

Warrants are out for the arrests of Brian Herbert, who was driving with a suspended license at the time, and Roy Bowden. Police say they both denied racing.

Amazed the guy was uninjured enough to walk (or in this case run) away. He's one lucky sumbiatch.

Hp means nothing if you've got no traction... Loook on youtube of drag racing videos of a Porsche carrera s turbo, whipping some very fast cars, including a vet, again, he couldn't get traction. Big advantage of the 4s Porsches. Tim

They weren't being polite, they were stoned, and thought you might be signaling for them to pull off the road for being too high.:D

That's what I found true in Portland, too. Coincidence?
