That is a beast. An old beast at that. They weigh close to 800 lbs and require a lot amps to run. Like 50-70 amps and they need more if you want to turn up the heat. So, to answer your question, not much. Whatever he can get. Might ask 500 and take it from there. On the bay they are all over the map.

I have a 400 amp P&H tig/stick at least that big. Paid $200 for it 25 years ago. A total beast that just won't die:<) Copper windings, not aluminum.

I had the same 300A, picked it up for $200 in the late 80's ended up giving it away when I moved. The foot pedal is about $300 new if you need it. The weight does not help there value, I ran mine on 240v 60A single phase and could only weld thin aluminium up to under 3/16", it needed lots more current get to its rated output. $500 starting price sounds about right.

I will be surprised if he can get $500....
Ask $500, if he gets offered $200 take it. Or make jumper cables out if the weld cables.

Thanks everyone - It is in Downey, if any of you LA guys are interested. Let me know, I don't think it would cost much ...
Lots of copper in it, so a scrap guy may like it! G |

Those are solid machines. Size and weight are both over the top but if someone wanted to try their hand at tig these machines are an economic entry. Dont send it to scrap! someone would be happy to get their hands on it, only exception is if its 3ph.
edit, a manual for it would still be on the web and likely still on millers site. Also, make certain the foot control stays with the machine, so often they go missing. Last edited by Jim2; 09-10-2018 at 02:47 PM.. |
