For the golfers and the Tiger haters
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Two years after his life and career came crashing down, Tiger Woods is a winner again.
One shot behind with two holes to play, Woods finally looked like the player who dominated golf for so much of his career. He birdied his last two holes Sunday, making a 6-foot putt on the 18th, to win the Chevron World Challenge by one shot over former Masters champion Zach Johnson. Woods closed with a 3-under 69, sweeping his arm when the final putt dropped, then slamming down his first in a celebration that was a long time coming. It had been 749 days and 26 official tournaments since he last won on Nov. 15, 2009 at the Australian Masters, back when he looked as though he would rule golf as long as he played. But he crashed his car into a fire hydrant outside his Florida home on Thanksgiving night, and shocking revelations of extramarital affairs began to emerge, which eventually led to a divorce. Since then, he has changed swing coaches and endured more injuries, missing two majors this summer and missing the cut in another. .Now, however, it looks clear that Woods is on an upward path. |

As for not needing the money . . . maybe, maybe not. He's got a lot of expenses, and his income has gone way down. Tiger Woods' dwindling fortune- MSN Money Gotta keep a lot of cash flowing in when you are carrying a mortgage on your your house of . . . . FIFTY FOUR MILLION ($54,000,000). That's quite a nut. |

Oh, he's not dead yet! He's in a tough position, but he's a tough guy. If you think about it, after he destroyed his public image, he really only has one way to make big money: WIN PGA Golf tournaments, including majors. It's all riding on that. If he can start winning Majors again, the cash will flow. If he goes for too much longer without winning a PGA tournament, his ability to make significant money will go way down. A non-winning Tiger still sells tickets and TV ad time, but doesn't put money in his pocket. It's a huge amount of pressure, as he's not getting any younger, and the competition is getting better. He'll be 37 next year. There have not been a lot of Major wins by golfers over 40. |

Personality aside, he has done an incredible amount of good for golf and the other players. I think golf is much better off with him competitive again. He has given us some of the most memorable moments in golf, for sure.

most of his time off was injury and surgery related when the sh&t hit the fan with his wife that was during the off season and he returned to the Masters the next April He did loose a bunch of his sponsers cause of his personal life but my guess is that once he starts really winning again they will crawl back to him Take Nike for example (who always stood by him) before Tiger their golf department was made up of golf shirts and maybe shoes, now they are one of the best club manufactures in the world, without Tiger on Staff I question that would have happened as for the comment of this not being a REAL golf tournament I agree it was only a field of 18 players but they where some of the best in the world, I think it was a tremendous win and a real boost for him and the golf world

And IMHO there will be more memorable moments from Tiger in the future.
