With a 5ms time I shouldn't ever have to wait for a page to load.

john70t 12-08-2011 09:50 AM

I usually get signed out from Pelican, usually after a few seconds.
But when I disconnect the internet and then reconnect minutes later I'm still signed in.

The Verizon account has fast enough, but disconnects/reconnects often.

Posting on a thread takes several seconds/minutes to update. Almost as if it goes through a human filter....

Wayne, I have scripts blocked for most websites. (Firefox/NoScript).
In reference to my signature, it questions why Google javascript is running on a script-blocked page at all. When I "clear recent history" in Firefox, I have to stop this script(and sometimes others) several times. FF hangs for several minutes while clearing history.

This happens with many websites, not just Pelican, and is probably just a FF bug issue.

Actually, posting on Pelican with scripts blocked works better.
-When I get signed out after typing a lengthy post, hitting the "back" button and copying the text to go forward saves the text.
-When scripts are enabled, I still get logged out but everything is lost when auto-refreshed.

I'm not sure if Pelican gets it's advertisement credit when people surf with scripts blocked. That revenue is probably one of the things that helps to pay for this playground you provide.(thank you)

Just tried it a minute ago.....major hang up going from Tech to OT. I was using IE8.....I refuse to use IE9.

Then tried Firefox, instant connection.

Was being slow just now

Brian 162 12-09-2011 06:21 PM

I tried Google chrome and it worked faster compared to Internet Explorer 9

Firefox here. Been slow going about 50% of time from my end.
Seems like a communication problem of sorts, I click on Pelican in my favorites and it acts like it is searching to make a connection.
I can click on Craigslist, Ebay or Youtube and they load instantly. Click on Pelican again and it just keeps loading...

dennis in se pa 12-10-2011 06:19 AM

Mine works fine.

Zeke 12-10-2011 08:47 AM

Typically I jump back and forth in open browser pages between a couple of forum sites. A lot of times a request to Pelican will take up to 30 seconds. Other sites can be slow, os I'm usre it's my computer and/or my connection.

But, if it means anything, Pelican is always the slowest.

Working great right now.
