1)Are the big bad Boston Bruins back? 2)Is Brodeur done?

1) Are the big, bad Boston Bruins back? | ProHockeyTalk
Quote:
the Bruins have been scoring in lightning-fast two-goal bunches during their three-game streak:
•Two goals in 37 seconds (vs. Ottawa).
•Two goals in eight seconds, two goals in 14 seconds and two goals in 28 seconds (vs. Toronto).
•Two goals in 29 seconds and two goals in 49 seconds (vs. the Islanders).
In total, that’s 12 goals in less than three minutes.
Its about stinkin time!

2) Marty seems to be not seeing the puck as well and getting slower. 39 is not the end of the world but I'm thinking that he may not have much left in the tank. I suspect he'll play 50% or less this year and collect his well-deserved spot in the Hall of Fame this coming year.

No they are not back, look at the teams they scored on, Marty could be a surprise but for the most part will only play back up and be very good at that.

You mean like Toronto with 19 points and 3rd overall in the East? (Ottawa has been at reasonable with 7-7-1 as well. The Islanders... you have a point.

All the commentators are talking like Marty is the number 1 goalie. I just saw him play Nashville last night and he looked slow.
p.s. Pronger plays on Versus tonight and the Crosby sycophants are chatting it up again.

Yes the Bruins are pretty iffy this season so far.

Brodeur is not quite the goalie he was but he has a little life left in him as evidenced by this clip

Check out their goalie(s). Without Reimer they have sucked.

The Bruins are on their way back.

Brodeur is old. No getting around it. And check his shot stats, he sees more shots and more good scoring chances each night than he sued to see in a week. These aren't the Jacques Lemaire Devil's, they are a shadow of the old teams.

Yup. Our defense isn't all that solid...yet. But Marty is of course slower and less steady than formerly. Who wouldn't be? But Moose is looking good. I hope he gets enough ice time so that whatever gas is left in Marty's tank can be saved for the run up to playoffs.

Not yet (sqd.). - My team is "treading water" at the moment.

Cheers

Pfft. He learned that from Tim Thomas:

6-3 against the #3 team in the league (up until the Oilers loss last night):
-They had a couple quick back to back goals (one was 44 seconds apart).
-Seguin extends his point streak to 5 games (he has a league leading +/- of 11 pts and is 12th in goals with 6).
-Brad "Mr. everyone's favorite guy" Marchand took a pair of goals.
-Corvo is stepping up with 3 assists.

Just think how much better they would look if I wasn't so unbiased?

The streak continues!!!
The "Boss-Ten" Bruins have won the last 10 games (including their SO win against the Sabres tonight).

I'm bummed. The Bruins only won 12 out of 13 games played in November (and they lost the 13th game in the shootout) so they got 25 out of 26 points!

The game against Detroit on Black Friday was good. I still think Pavel Datsyuk is still the best player in the league to watch. His hands are incredible.

Streaks generally have a way of evening up. Remember when the Caps were 7-0? I like where my Pens sit, on top of the points race with a consistent record. And getting healthier!

I believe the Bruins lost about six in a row to start the season, so yea, they have evened up.

I'll be the first one to admit its not about who starts out strong but who finishes with the most points. Yes the B's were 3/10 early on but they finally decided to show up and play some hockey.

Back to the Capitals. What's up with them? I watched the game and down one goal in the 3rd, they had 2 TWO shots on goal against the Pens. Almost kind of pathetic to see that effort for a new coach. They need to work on more then each forward taking turns on a 1 on 3 runs to the net and trying to get an unassisted goal.

Do you really have to ask? A bunch of overpaid disinterested Russians. End of story.

And maybe the 'steroid' arrest of their trainer two years ago. OV has gone downhill ever since. Coincidence? Maybe, I don't think so.

Have you guys been smelling my Devils lately? Sacred feces we're in a slump! Marty is full of holes these days.
