My Friday Ride
One of my riding buddies and I played hooky from work on Friday and went for a bit of a ride. He was on his Yamaha FJR, me on my Harley Road King. We took the 6:20 ferry across Puget Sound to Kingston, then rode northwest up through Sequim, Port Angeles, and out to Seiku. From there, we went south to Forks for lunch, then returned along Crescent Lake. Getting back to Port Angeles with some time to spare, we decided to take a bit of a detour up Hurricane Ridge. Then, for some odd reason, the road crew (driving the snow plow) up at the top gave us a standing ovation. Like they had never seen motorcycles before. Weird.

Well, they know how cold it is and for sure how slippery. I applaud too.

That looks pretty cold! It also looks pretty fun.
Did you see any sparkly vampires? |
Oh that looks like good chilly fun! Need some good hot chocolate after that!
The sparkly vampires are in the Olympics. There's so much cloud cover and rain in the Olympic rainforest that the only sparkle once or twice per year. That's why they are so hard to spot. ;) angela |
You are tough hombres.

What are the "sparkly vampires"? I thought I knew a good deal of Washington folklore, but I've honestly never heard of them. Never seen one, either. Maybe I'll have to look harder...
