spoon folks question

So ... I really like the idea of the 5.7x28 round... just my black rifle fix is taken care of with my FAL ...

Lately I've been pondering a TC Contender, with 22lr, 5.7x28, and 7.62x39 barrels... but I've always thought that a bolt 5.7 around a small (22 size) action would be pretty cool...

Then... uh oh. I found a 'smith that converts the Savage 93 in 22wmr (have one, love it) to be a single shot 5.7x28 ... for $200.

So ... do I go contender w/ 22lr barrel (to start, I've got about $500 to spend) and save my shekels for the other barrels... do I go for the Savage converted? A buddy can get me a new Savage at wholesale ($200 after shipping) ... so I think I'd be the same into either money wise...

Or I could buy this NEF/H&R single in 762x39 and spend a few hundred bucks on ammo for my various spoons...

What would you do? I've never had a problem deciding on what to buy "next" but I just got my big thing (22lr conversion kit for the FAL) and this extra money sorta fell into my lap...
