1946 piper on floats
I went by the marina today and met the guy that owned this 1946 Piper. He was getting ready to move it and get it ready for winter. He takes it over to Ill and has the wheels put back on. Anyway I though it was neat and he was nice enough to let me take a look at it and answer some questions. He said he has taken it all the way to Minnesota, stopping at marina's along the way.

I see that guy a lot down there. Cool plane.

I've got about 4 hours in a float cub up in north Idaho.
I don't have any pics of the cub but I have one my instructor took while I was flying. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1323382410.jpg Jackson |
They are a lot of fun but Cubs are way overpriced. You can get the same thing in another airplane for around 1/2 the price.

Float flying is great fun but between buying the floats and the increase in insurance it's a bummer.
