Lunar Eclipse, pretty much right now for the West Coast

Cloudy here, rats, peaks in about 10 minutes.

Totality right now. Just a few clouds here, but 20 something degrees.

I didn't take the tripod out with me, my mistake, it was early.

Took out the dslr and no chip. It's in my laptop that my daughter borrowed, grrrrr. I had a clear view for a few minutes off my back deck in Seattle before the clouds came in.

It was to start around 4:45am and my "internal" alarm clock went off at 4:46am. Headed out to the hot tub and watched until just before 6am. It was 21 degrees, brilliantly clear.

The best viewing I've had of a full lunar eclipse in nearly 40 years. AWESOME!

Watched at the beach in, appropriately enough, Half Moon Bay with my 10-year-old daughter. Great show. We saw the first half, but the moon set into the ocean haze before it could start to reappear.

The coolest thing was that you could see the 3D-ness of the moon when it was at totality. It didn't look like a 2D disk anymore.

Oh, and I made some hot chocolate in the Westy. That is one handy car.

Heavy fog up here in the valley...not a chance. Glad you got a good view, Angela..

We've got a weird weather pattern right now. Very cold, very clear, no fog. Big change for Medford as before this set in two weeks ago, we were fogged out every day.
