Anyone need .50BMG brass?
I have about 60 brass cases of .50BMG headstamped "L C 6 0" with bandolier clips in excellent condition. This will be free to a fellow Pelican, just pay shipping and I'll send the tumbled , clean brass to you!
I reload, but I don't reload .50BMG and I don't know anyone who does...

Update...I just called, got his wife. She's VERY excited about the brass. So, definitely, I'll take it. PM me with your address, Shipping costs, and I'll send a check. Kevin's quite a guy..straight arrow, retired Navy Chief, just loves guns more than cars. He & his wife live "off the grid". He once told me he goes through lots of powder...I imagine so considering his collection of full auto stuff. Yes, he has the license...

off topic but...
Do people really make their own bullets for the 50 BMG or any other rifle? (brass or bronze alloy turned in a lathe) Lead cast bullets I understand are common. The reason I ask is because it was mentioned in the movie "Sniper". (Marky Mark) .... Why would you make your own bullets if you couldn't guarantee they were all absolutely the same... (weight/size) And then you'd have to do extensive testing with a lot of identical rounds to make sure your rifle/scope was accurate. Just seems way too hard.

The only people that I know who make their own bullets use lead and they are for low velocity pistol or rifle, I've never heard of anyone making their own from any other material. I'm not saying it couldn't be done, but it would require machinery that most people don't possess, unless they own/work at a machine shop.

There are 68 cases and almost all have been tumbled clean, about 10 have not... All of the headstamps are the same and this is "once used" brass that was fired from a Bushmaster bolt action .50 rifle.

Too late. Keep me in mind for next time... Yes, people do make their own bullets. I only do it for my revolvers where I can cast straight lead. A bullet swage setup for .50 BMG would be pricey, and you'd want some kind of computer-controlled power swage to ensure absolute consistency. I know of no one who swages their own .50 BMG bullets. You'd have to be doing competitions with a Ma Deuce to make it payoff...

Will do! I never get .50BMG brass, but my BIL's neighbor just bought a BushMaster and shot these through it and won't reload because the manual says "not to shoot reloads". The guy will be getting a lot of .223, but I do reload that caliber. If I ever get any more, I'll let you know!

Every gun I own says "do not shoot reloads" in the manual. Every gun I own shoots reloads. I think it's more to limit the manufacturers liability when someone does something stupid reloading. When it comes to .50 BMG, there aren't many people who can afford to shoot only virgin loads. I usually pick up a few spent (non-Berdan) cases at every gun show. Every else I reload in batches of 100, .50 BMG I reload in batches of 10. Oh, and I should get around to getting a .50 BMG rifle one of these days. (I'm about a third of the way there...)

Well, Chris...Kevin's going to love the brass! Silly question...if you reload, why reload for a caliber you don't have the firearm for? Loading for friends?

I reload .303 British for a good friend with a Lee Enfield rifle, and .308 Winchester for my BIL who has an AR10. I load 7mm Remington Mag and .35 Remington for my father and .38 special for my neighbor. I'll load anything that I have dies for!

Update. Art, the check is in the envelope. Later today I'll drag the gut in my old Dodge pickemup, and drop it in the mail. Should probably sell the old thing...these days I drive it once a week or so, just to keep it's juices flowing...
