paypal question......rant?

Ok so I haven't sold anything on ebay for more than a year, just sold a r/c lipo battery charger.....
Buyer paid immediately.......
Paypal says funds not available for up to 21 days due to my not being a big seller or something like that..........are you fing kidding me?

so apparently paypal wont give me MY money until the buyer receives what he bought?
what about the damn shipping money.......now i've got to pay out of pocket for shipping, a week before christmas......... to ship something i didn't want to sell ......... to wait "up to 21 days" to get my money.....this is mother ****ing ridiculous.......

try half.com You sell a text book. shipping is always more then what they collect from the buyer. also takes about a month for the money to pay out. they do billing cycles, and then allow another week for the stupid **** to post then another week for it to transfer to your bank...

eBay is **** to the sellers, but to buyers it's non matched!

It's a recent thing and YES it's complete BS.

Whatever line of BS they tell you about "successful seller" blah blah is just a lie so they can take 2-3 weeks of float time with your money.

Similar to the way an 'instant transfer' will leave your bank account INSTANTLY, but when someone sends you an 'instant transfer it may take 3 to 5 days, depending on your bank's policies.

The first time I saw that crap and read through it it said something about "until you have sold at least $1K in merchandise."

I promptly sold $1K in merchandise, and now it says Until you have 100 successful sales."

I wonder what it will say after that?

**** ebay.....i'm done.......they just ruined christmas......was going to use that money to buy one thing for my wife......been broke as **** for 3 years........barely make rent.....down to one car......
decided to part with some things i've had forever to do something nice and i get ass ****ed........
i have a 48 rating on ebay over the last 10 years, NEVER any negative......have had a paypal the same duration.......
don't worry honey.....you'll get your gift on january 4th..........wtf............

I wouldn't sink your own christmas, but this is what you're doing to yourself. I bet your wife would like a good letter or card telling her how much you love and appreciate her over some store bought gift.......

You're not alone. An internet search will reveal a small but growing crowd with pitchforks and torches.

Ask them to send you a copy of their federal monetary-enforcement powers licence.
What they're doing is holding your money hostage.

But we get used to such things these days.

rusty......when i have to make the decision to sell one of the few remaining things i've held onto to do something nice for my wife......only to have everything ruined because of ebay/paypal greed......then yes......i have every flipping right to be pissed......so now i have a grocery budget of $35 for the week for myself/wife/2 cats.......cause i've got to pay for the shipping......
we live on an EXTREMELY tight budget.......where $50 can make or break us being homeless or not from not being able to pay the rent.........
work has been slow.......
the bills don't go away......
i do what i've gotta do to keep the lights on here.......
and now i just got kicked in the gut..........

another question......on the status bar of my paypal account there is a tab to "issue refund"......if i click that will it send the buyer back his money from the paypal account or will it try to pull it from my registered bank account which feeds paypal?

i just want to cancel tho whole headache and send the guy back his money......i'll sell it on another forum......

bell, first I'm sorry to hear about your financial troubles.

Second, I don't know about the issue refund action. BUT pp (paypal) might charge you a fee anyway -- or two fees, who knows.

What you might do is contact the buyer, tell him what is going on and ask if he wants to send you a money order.

Many people are refusing to use paypal because of such things. Paypal has been screwing consumers for many years, decades IIRC. Numerous state Atty Generals sued them and forced them into a consent decree some time ago, but it is like squeezing Jello in your fist -- it will ooze out somewhere.

thanks rwebb....i used to have alot of things.....including a sweet 85 911.......over the last 2 years have made sacrifices just to get by......it sucks......and is wearing me thin......
the wife and i are on a plan, things should definitely be better next year, but i need 3 key things to happen to make the stars align......

Its just the nature of eBay and them owning PayPal. Been so long but when Paypal just started I was onboard very early (under 10,000 users) and used it in a small commerce site. Had some volume moving but nothing significant. Too funny now when I think of it but they were so pleasant to deal with, elevated me to some stupid status and get this, sent me a PayPal t-shirt!

Now back today with them on another account for some ebay stuff, only this time I was forced to sign up and then too had all these stupid obstacles. I called them... criss crossed the globe in phone calls with supervisors from Punjab to Cal. and they eventually lifted the restrictions. I honestly don't even recall what the deal was but the sweet sounding American female gave sympathy and it was done. Also, somewhere on this board, a link was posted for all the numbers, emails of Paypal employee desk to pres, including some home addresses. Not sure if its still a valid link up but I grabbed it and saved it for future use.
