Most fun car?

Foxies thread got me thinking.

What is the most fun car you've ever driven? The one that consistently put a grin on your face and it didn't matter if anyone was looking?

For me (in order):

'56 Speedster
'70 AMX (390, 4 speed)
1960 Mini Cooper S
'47 Dodge pickup
'88 911

My 1980 TR7 convertible. Did nothing all that well, but was reliable and got me everywhere I needed to go. Just a lot of good memories associated with that car.

69 Chevelle Convertible BB 4spd

It was my uncle's car but he had no problem letting his 16-17 y/o nephew take it on a parts run.

911E on the road, Tristar off the road. Actually, I've had Baja Bugs that were more fun off the road.

ronster 12-13-2011 07:41 AM

My '99 Boxster, hands down, nothing else I've owned comes close.

GH85Carrera 12-13-2011 07:44 AM

1974 914 2.0
1985 911 Carrera

I work very hard to stay out of 911 Turbos and GT3s.

For pure fun it was my well sorted '67 bug with the 2 liter Berg engine, smoking most cars 0-60 (after that it ran out of gear) always put a grin on my face.
I've almost finished rebuilding it (2nd pan-off resto) with a bigger engine and a 901 trans.

- I've had tons of driving my 944S2. (It is a well-set up 944, ya know...) It is a fun car to throw into the corners and catch on the other side. :D

- In college, whenever I asked, my friend would throw me the keys to her Fiat Spyder 2000. That car was a blast to drive on the PA country roads surrounding my college. Come to think of it, I did a lot of crazy fun driving while in college in my Plymoth TC-3 and my Mustang LX)

- Mrs Z-man's VW Eos is also a fun car for cruizin' with the top down. A couple of summers ago, we took a vacation in Maine - drove all the way up with the top down. Top down, warm summer day, beautiful wife by my side -- good times indeed.

06 Lotus Elise. Drives like a well sorted out 914.
914. The car that taught me the wonders of a light weight car.
Dune Buggy. Only drove it 50ft, but I was only 13 and I got to drive it 50ft!

Dottore 12-13-2011 07:56 AM
