I wonder if he will get a ticket for careless driving. He should, he is not above the law.

The article says he drove up the tension rod/cable and ended up tented up against the pole. Could have happened to anybody that needed to drive of road for some important reason.....

The officer will NEVER live ths one down. The other officers will be crackin' jokes about this long after the no-skill driver has retired...

yeah I think if I reached for a pen and put my car into a street light I'd be getting a summons.

I wonder if it was a male or a female cop, not that it makes a difference, just wonderin.

Sammy, the RCMP screws up like any police force, the funny uniforms are the dress uniforms, best recent gaff was a protester tried to pie our Prime Minister, this was a few years back, he walked right up to the PM and missed with the pie but the PM didn't miss him, popped him a couple of times in the head, cops were just standing there watching, looked real bad on them when they played it on the news hour

Yeah don't get hung up about "US cop". I think it's just that sonce the BBC is world wide and read by millions all over the globe, no one felt the need to pin down exactly which locale.

It's a disgraceful bit of driving regardless.

Oh this is so 15 years ago-

My sister did this the third time out behind the wheel of my folks car (acura legend sedan) but it caused the telephone pole to tip over onto the wires of the power poles across the narrow street. Thus causing the car to be suspended over the street 12 feet high with the bumper resting on the top of the road cut/embankment of 5 ft high After the replacement of three poles 150ft of high tension line & phone cable not to mention the crane used to untangle the car which only suffered a boogered lower front valance and and need for an alignment. My folks got the bill for the damages from the utility company and then had to hash it out with insurance. I blew beer out of my nose when my dad reluctantly gave up the story after calling me while I was away at college to ask me whether the car needed to have anything particular checked after the excursion. I told him to have the seats checked for $hit stains.

I tease her to this day
