I buy it. I saw something similar on Animal Plant. Consider all the vegetation they eat - makes plenty-o-methane anf that tail wags crazy to fling poop. I seem to remember they do that to get their scent dispursed.

I hate to say it. 4 pages of youtube results and only one other vid of a farting hippo.... It's just too bad they spliced in the audio from the one above. Though it was waving its tail around, flinging that poo.

That would explain why one does not see hippos pulling wagons or carriages!
