FO's First Annual Knife Giveaway!

I decided that I would like to build a knife to giveaway each Christmas season to a lucky Pelican. Those of you following my knife thread know that I have a special blade that I cut out of a machete that I have owned for years. I am waiting for some carbide bits to arrive tomorrow so that I can get some holes drilled through the handle. I have checked the UPS tracking and it has not been updated since the 6th. It is still showing to be in LA, but it shows that it is still on time to be delivered here in South Texas tomorrow.

I wanted to go ahead and start the thread today and I will be ending it at 12pm Thursday 12-15-2011. I will then post the winner and hopefully some pictures of the knife.

The giveaway is simple. You must be a contributing Pelican member with at least 1000 posts. Be at least 18yrs old and have a love of knives. Just reply to this thread that you want your name entered and you will be.

I will be covering shipping on the knife. Overseas Pelicans welcomed.

Good Luck!

Not looking to have my name added to the list but, You have actually reminded me that there is still hope in humanity by the simple act of offering something of yourself for no other reason than being you. My hat is off to you. Well done Sir.

Bill- I don't qualify per the rules of posts but appreciate ones sweat of labor and generosity. Do you have pics showing the making of it? Scott

Well some of you guys with a lower post count have a few days to get your count up and check back in. Lots of folks in the technical boards need help and there is always room to fluff things up in OT & Parf. Without getting into a Christopher Watken watch scene, lets just say this blade has been with me through thick and thin. It oozes South Texas and has gone through many a Mesquite / Huisache sappling and cactus. I am selfish in a way because I want this thing to live. It has worked hard and never failed me. It deserves to spend its days skinning a buck, chopping an onion or cutting a steak. No more chopping in its future, it has done enough... If I kept it for myself it would live in a dark gunsafe and rarely see the light of day. I hope the new owner uses the hell out of it...

PS - Thanks for the kind words and Merry Christmas to you all. Now sign up! You can't win

Edit: I initially posted to put my name in the hat but the more I think about it, there are other guys here that appreciate knives more than me so I'm going to withdraw my name from the list.
