Mess with the bull? Lamborghini crash.

I thought some of the comments were pretty funny.

What a dumass, less brains than hair....

pwd72s 12-21-2011 09:30 AM

win some-lose some

Joeaksa 12-21-2011 09:40 AM

Why am I not at all surprised... he should have driven it once then sold it!

BE911SC 12-21-2011 09:46 AM

He should sell it to a rapper.

masraum 12-21-2011 09:47 AM

Nice. Not surprising. Actually, he's lucky it wasn't a lot worse. AWD is no fix for stupid.

nynor 12-21-2011 09:59 AM

the roads here are ridiculous right now. we have terrible inversion/fog and the roads are slick all over the place, not to mention the salt that was laid down. i can get rubber in second gear at spool up.... i can only imagine what that car will do. i drove an R8 last winter and i was very careful. this guy just doesn't get it.

redstrosekNic 12-21-2011 10:02 AM

I feel kind of bad for the guy, but not really...

He should never have taken it in the first place. How much are the taxes on a win like that? I bet it never goes back to his house. I bet he sells it cheap and figures out some kind of write off to offset his tax bill, not to mention the deductible.

It was insured, right?

Right, because that's what most folks would be likely to do.

Here, have this amazing extra fast lamborghini!

Nah, no thanks.

Sure, you're given a swimsuit model to do with what you will, and you decide that she's too much to handle, so you give her a quick kiss, pat on the butt, and go looking for a stud to take her off of your hands.

I'd say that's a pretty valid comparison. If I was given an F1 car, a 427 cobra, a Lamborghini, <insert other crazy car here>, you can bet your rear that I'd be driving it. I'd like to think that I'd be more cautious than this guy.

nynor 12-21-2011 11:33 AM

it was insured, per the local news article. taxes are going to be approximately half of the worth of the car, so about $190K federal income, plus state, plus licensing, etc. a good chunk of change.

Noah930 12-21-2011 11:41 AM

I can guarantee that had I won the thing*, I wouldn't have crashed it on the first drive due to my own stupidity, at least.

* and in fantasyland where taxes aren't an issue

vash 12-21-2011 12:00 PM

i know i wouldnt even have driven the thing.

would have sold it on the spot. sucks to be me. i couldnt afford the taxes on that free car.

Joe Bob 12-21-2011 12:06 PM

Free car for a raffle.....small print....the taxes will fuch ya.....

Most raffles will offer a settlement in lieu of receipt of the prize. Everyone gets a write off. Raffles are scams...legal but still a scam.

Do U think that the feeling of power got away from him?

crustychief 12-21-2011 04:42 PM

I think I would have given up the car as well. I sure a heck wouldn't have tested its acceleration / cornering on a questionable surface.

azasadny 12-21-2011 04:46 PM

I would have driven it to the local Porsche dealership and tried to trade it for a Cayman S and some $.
