Christmas Eve Dinner

We are going to the Chart House over Dana Point Harbor for our evening dinner, no cooking, no dishes, going early to catch the sunset. We can come home and open the stuff after, I want to see my Pelican surprise.

One of the 2 days ought to be spent out or otherwise relaxing. My wife will work both days like a dog for what will be over in 30 minutes. Sometimes I don't get it.

But I do the dishes.

Is the Chart House at the end of the pier in Santa Monika, Rt 66? I'm not that familiar with the area, just wondering. We're going to 7PM church, then some pork type dish with some wine. Merry Christmas.

Home made pizza, mulled wine (plus a nice Chianti), dinner and a movie with the kids - Mickey's Christmas Carol and the original Grinch. Can't wait!

No. Chart House is a chain, closest one to the pier is on PCH just north of Sunset Bl.

Our xmas tradition, though we'll be going there tonight with friends: Hot Pot, Hot Pot - Authentic Mongolian Hot Pot

Used to be called Little Fat Sheep. The old name was better.

I don't know about Santa Monica, only go there when passing through, Check with Nostatic, I think he loves that place. the Chart House in Dana Point is on the cliffs.

Merry Christmas to all of you and Happy Holidays.

That should have been written in green unless you were talking about loving Santa Monica (which I do). I won't set foot in a Chart House again.

Just finished since we are having a couple over for drinks after . . . quick & easy beef tenderloin roast rubbed with mustard, rosemary & thyme with home-made skinny french fries. Very yummy.

We don't have many traditions, but one of them is a roast goose on Christmas Eve. Always. I have gone to extraordinary lengths to ensure one of these is served up on the 24th—especially in Asia.

Man, that goose is hung like a horse! (J/K, looks great!) Making Schweinehaxe (roast pork shank with crispy skin), klose (knodle, or potato ball), sauerkraut und creamed savoy cabbage. Tomorrow is brined turkey with prosciutto/ butter/ thyme under the skin and all the trimmings. Merry Christmas one and all, wish I had some Wassail.
