Vaseline questions

Was reading about guys using vaseline on the rubber on theirs cars but I can't find where I was reading about it. The tail on the 930 is looking far from black so I was going to try it, anybody have the link or vaseline experience - on your car's rubber. SmileWavy

Vaseline is used on Fuchs. Put glycerin on your tail. Or Mothers Back to Black.

Yep, best thing you can do. Its great on all rubber now and then. Its not for every wash.

not to be taken out of context :D

I use it on the battery terminals.
All the black molding, etc... I have used a Multi-purpose Silicone Spray. The stuff that provides waterproofing and stops squeaks. It extends the life of non-metal surfaces and once applied and wiped, it really makes the plastic and rubber stuff look rich.

Sorry, I don't want anything greasy on my tail.

I use 303 for the rubber on my cars.

You guys have far too much time on somewhat feeble minds... :)

I only use it in my hair...

I used a product from BMW called "Gummi Pflege" on the rubber trim parts on my Targa and it kept them from fading and crumbling...

The Car Enthusiast's Best Friend This stuff works... It has modified oils and micro carbon that penetrates into the oxidized plastic. Makes it look like new without any residue.

Is it ok if I get a little vaseline on the metal paint part around the rubber trim? I just put some on my rear window rubber trim and a little got on the metal around it. Should I wash it off or is it ok? It's gonna rain tomorrow so I don't really want to wash my car....

I did , a little. I didn't want to scratch the paint, so I didn't rub too hard.

Vaseline melts condoms....or it may have been the heat....
