They should have been easy for a place kicker but if I tried to kick a 40 yarder today I'd pull stuff they couldn't re-attach.
I'd have to carry them in a pouch.

In his defense, on one of em the center pooched the hike and even though the holder did a good job of getting it down, but the kicker had to hessitate. That one probably wasn't on him.

Can you imagine how low that guy feels today? That would be way more than bad.

No worse than the guy who missed three FGs in the 4th and OT last year.....Boise State versus UNR.

It;'s easy to selectively see only the end result and not what happened to get there.
I did the same thing when USC barely squeaked by orey-gone because of ONE missed Field goal, but I did that on porpoise to rub it in. I knew what the real deal was.
If I were serial about that it'd be a whole different story.

I watched it all, so that won't be necessary. Granted that a field goal is one play largely on the shoulders of one player, but it's one play of an entire game. Stanford had the ball, great field position, great momentum, 3 time outs, and a minute left in the game. Instead of sticking with their gameplan and excellent QB they elected to be conservative and burn clock. That didn't work out too well........
