Question / Vintage-Antique Shop Air Compressor

I have this antique shop air compressor that was made in the mid-to-late 1920's. It is @30 gallon tank, electric 110V motor that drives a single cylinder pump via cloth/leather belt. The tank is a laydown style. Everything is original down to the cloth-covered wiring and plug and still works.

I am thinking of selling this but do not know of a market even exists or it's value. Any one have suggestions besides Ebay?

Perhaps a bicycle shop in Brooklyn will pay big money for it. They can inflate the tires on customer's steam-punk fixies while twirling their waxed mustaches.

Do a search on Google with as much info as you have on the compressor. Chances are, you'll finds lots of info out on the Internet about it.

Can't imagine there is a big collectors market for air compressors, maybe if the plumbing was all brass and copper.

There's an old one (1934) over on Garage Journal classifieds right now for $1800. I don't think there is much of a market for it though - unless Jay Leno is looking for one.

Yes - I think you guys are right - did google/ebay - some forums. There does not seem to be any real demand for those. Guess I'll keep it.

Reminds me of a quote from a "picker" I ran across while shopping some coin-op early casino machines. He said just because it's old, cool and they made very few, does not mean there is automatically a demand for it.

If you haven't done so already, please inspect the integrity of that tank if you intend to keep and use it. I've seen a few early compressor tanks that rusted from the inside and failed "suddenly". Usual failure is along a weld seam.
