XBOX 360 - Forza Motorsport 3 Question

Does anyone know how, or if you can turn the music off in Freeplay mode? My son wants me to race him in the Splitscreen mode, and we have the TV hooked up to a subwoofer and speakers. The in-race music in intolerable, and also prevents me from hearing the motor on the 962 that I always drive!
