Very nice, took mine fishing today. I do look forward to her being on skis.

Different latitudes, similar attitudes. An interest in our kids.
You have a lovely daughter.
How did she do on skis, most kids seem to pick it up quickly.

Great picture.

I know the feeling.

Here's my Son and I heading out to the slopes of Japan.
He's almost five, we went a few times last year, now he's starting to get the hang of it.

Hard work but fun. I remember pushing my son around on the flats for what seemed like hours, teaching him how to snow plow. Much easier when he got to the stage of snow plowing inside my skis. Funny as hell when he had his first face plant.

What a day. It all goes by so terribly fast. I took my Daughter to the airport last week so she could get back to school. A two hour drive.

On the way we talked about all the stuff we did when my kids were your child's age. She remembered everything.

Today, I took my son for his ROTC interview at Georgetown. Four hour round trip. Oddly, we talked about a lot of the same experiences. He remembered everything.

So will your beautiful daughter.

Nicely done.

I remember teaching my boys to ski. Pushing them, or pulling them with my poles to get them on the lift...I had never worked up a sweat skiing before that!

Both were pretty quick learners & it is so much fun skiing with them these days (they are 21 & 24 now) - we all ski at about the same speed, on the same hills, etc.

In fact, I just put my 21-year-old on a plane this morning to Colorado to meet up with a college friend & his dad who invited him on a ski trip to Breckenridge/Keystone. Too bad the snow situation is horrible up there this winter.

The best thing about skiing with my "boys"? The fact that it is one of the few things that I am still better at than they are!

Took our 5 year old for the first time over Christmas too. The first day, she cried during her lesson. The second day, she finished right before lunch and made us go up the hill 5 times to show off. That was one of my proudest moments as a father, seeing her tear down the hill after 2 short lessons.

One of the most disappointing moments as a father came the very next day where she cried because she DIDN'T want to go skiing...ARRRGGHHH. I guess she was over tired. Lesson for next time we go skiing, try to find a ski-in and ski-out place so you can send them back to the room.

Here's the family on a "good" day.

Well Done.

Family ski trips have been very important to my kids and particularly to my wife and me. Enjoy the time together, it goes by fast.

Awesome photos! I love your picture, HD, it has everything and you will cherish it forever. It also bears an uncanny resemblance to what I refer to on my FB page as my *favorite picture ever taken*. I've always taken pictures and my little sister was my muse when we were kids, this photo was taken in 1970, I was teaching her to ski in our backyard in Mpls.

Great thread. We parents sure are lucky for the joy our children bring us.
