tabs, TBird, mauser help

What is this?

I know it's 8mm & a modified Mauser action. Anything special? Anything I should look for? What's it worth restored?

TIA

civilian sportser. wouldn't imagine it'd be anything special unless it's got a history. the checkering on the receiver is unusual though.

does it have a head stamp anywhere on the receiver?

Those scope mounts are factory type and probably factory installed. It is a military receiver, you can tell by the thumb indent used for loading. I would think this is a FM Mauser. Appears to be re-blued, the bolt release is "red" which happens when you re-blue it.
