What to drink with Vietnamese food?

My wife is taking me out for my birthday tomorrow to a local Vietnamese restaurant that has been getting rave reviews. It happens to be one of the few BYOB places around here.

What is the beverage of choice to go along with Vietnamese food? Wine, rice wine, beer, etc?

Thanks

Can't go wrong with a cooler full of beer. Spicy? Cold brew kills the fire after a short period of burn...

Vietnamese beer "333" is perfect. And a cheeky, slightly tart sauv blanc.

I love Vietnamese food.

+1, a Sauvignon blanc from the Marlborough region of NZ should fit the bill.

I like...
.

.
w/Vietnamese food.
Ask for a short glass of milk on the side in case things get too hot for you.
It cools quicker/better than cold beer.
Enjoy...Yum!

Beer, it's almost impossible to match a wine. Remember, food and booze go together. Notice any wineries in Viet Nam?

Its entirely possible to match wine to Vietnamese food. There is wine in Vietnam. You may recall the French had some involvement there. Cabs and Chardies are grown and made there, although increasing in Australian styles rather than French.

Well if it's a choice between French and Australian...
