what is the least expensive way to buy LAKER tickets?

my stepdad just finished radiation therapy. kinda a last ditch effort to turn back the clock on some lung cancer. not a cure.

talking to my mom, i think this is it. tumor shrunk, but is expect to march on now that the bombardment is over.

he loves the Lakers. thinking of buying a pair of decent tix, and sending my brother and him to a game. something to cheer him up a bit. i think in the end, we can take two paths. hide in sorrow OR live the rest of life to the fullest. he may be taking the sorrow/pity path. maybe some hoops will cheer him up..

i'm not a sports guy..so buying LAKER tixs seems foreign..not like we can just show up and buy from a scalper right?

I might be able to score 2 nice ones (maybe 4) in the Premier section. Only 2 seats in the row, on the rail, food and beverage service (you don't have to get up except to go to the bathroom), really nice seats. PM me and let me know when they were thinking of going.

If you're not set on a specific game, most season ticket holder's (at least in these parts) can't hardly give'em away for a "non-hot ticket" game, and most don't attend 40 games a season. Ask around, put out a WTB, etc. Back when the Hornets were a hot item (the first few years) and sold out every game, there was always someone at work trying to "give away" tix, and I live 75 miles away.

edit: nevermind :)

Also, this is another option for buying tickets. Kind of like a "Craigslist" for tickets (without the ripoff hassle) Tickets at StubHub! Where Fans Buy and Sell Tickets

+1 on Stubhub. My wife saved us a bundle AND got better seats than were otherwise available. The price shifts on a supply/demand/time before game formula it seems. Stanford vs Arizona.

+2 on stubhub

Got good seats for a Dodger game at less than half price.

People buy season tickets and dump the non headliner games... I suspect they may even get a healthy ROI by flipping playoff tickets.

We've got Clipper tickets on StubHub (Go figure, just when they have a good team). If any Clipper fans out there, I can get you a deal.

Craigster, thanks for the tip on StubHub. I just scored tix there for next week's Mighty Ducks game. Saved about 33%. Nice!
