Getting 2 tickets to Jimmy Buffet 3/30/12 in Tampa

Jimmy Buffet, Tampa Fair Grounds, 3/30/12

I was on the site at 10 AM when tickets went on sale and couldn't get schitz for seats.

Anyone have any idea on how to get two tickets and not get screwed. I want covered seats and have tried the normal route and all the seats now are uncovered. Not sure what or who gets all the good covered tickets but it just frustrating. I will be down in Tampa for Sun-n-Fun at Lakeland with my better half and just want to get some decent tickets.

Open to any logical, legal options. Anyone here a ticket agent or have some connections?

Willing to pay a fair price. Thanks

Fan clubs usually get offered discounted seats. My local club always has some extras they are selling to members long after the usual sources dry up

I will be checking the margaritaville website for options. Just can't figure out where all the good seats go in the first 60 seconds of sale.

I was just checking on livenation.com and you could still get 2 and 3rd level seats fairly center

Let me know if you need help locally. I'm only a few miles from the concert site. If the wind is blowing right I can hear concerts from my back yard. I know a good lawyer and bail bondsman.

Thanks, hoping we won't need a lawyer. I don't think my wife will be flashing the ta ta's and I don't drink anymore so we should be safe if we can get tickets.

Thanks agaIn. We do this every year so pretty familiar with everything. Will have dinner at Columbia in Ybor city on the way to the concert. Probably stay over by the airport and make Sun-n-fun for two days. Just a little break from the NE winter. Maybe a dinner at Bern's one night. Also like Roy's. We won't starve.

ticket-basterd is a huge scam

most of the good seats are not sold to the public EVER!!!!!!
they go to the promoter-show site-brokers ect

one way to get the best available seats is call the office 5 minutes before the sale
stay on the line and ask questions about whatever
when the time for the sale nears the magic moment then ask to about the show you want
and most times you get a good seat

This has happened to me many times...hook up right at the appointed time and the best available seats are practically out in the parking lot. The details of concert ticket sales are a well-kept secret that very few are privy to. Actually, most decent seats for big-name shows aren't even made available to the mere mortals logging in to the ticket sites. They're skimmed off and funneled to "special interests" long before the general public even gets a crack at them. People connected to the band, the record label, the promoter, industry insiders, fan clubs, radio stations, local big-wigs, ticket outlet employees and re-sellers like StubHub all have first dibs at the best seats. The re-sellers are the worst culprits. They're paying off the primary ticket outlets to get many of the prime seats which they then sell for several times face value on their web site. Once the mega-outlets like Ticketmaster gained control of nationwide ticket sales, it was all over for the loyal fans who put these acts on the map in the first place. Why do these places even exist? Why can't we just go a venue's web site and buy tickets for a show? Nobody seems to know...

I've heard that it's sometimes possible to show up at the venue just before showtime and buy un-claimed premium tickets at face value. It would be a gamble 'cause you might not get in at all but might be worth a shot if you don't absolutely have to be there.

Bob Dylan had an interesting approach for a recent show at the Paramount Theater in Oakland, CA. There were no pre-sales whatsoever...if you wanted to see the show, you showed up at the box office on the day of the show and bought your tickets from an actual human being. What a novel idea...

Your scenario sounds dead on! Once again, J. Q. Public gets the shaft.
