Pics for Book Cover Offer!

For my series on Failure Prevention and Operational Excellence Series (7 Volume Set) I have decided to offer some creative ideas to the pub house on cover designs. I wasn't thrilled with their design of Process Plant Equipment Operation, Reliability and Control but they did use one of our pics.

If you have taken (not stolen) a pic that you feel would make for an interesting book cover please e-mail it to me. I may have a few pics on the cover - we shall see. If it is selected I will provide you a copy of the book! I know, I know you would much rather have a cut of the profits. Well that ain't gonna happen. A copy of the book would look great on your bookshelf and it may even provide a little insight! Each volume will list for $195 there may be an opportunity to resell it on e-bay for $15!

So here is what I was thinking - the series is on failure prevention and operational excellence, 7 volumes:

• Vol.1 to 4 - Failure Prevention of Materials, Methods, Machines, Manpower
• Vol. 5 - Diagnostic Tools and Techniques for Increased Equipment Reliability
• Vol. 6 - Understanding Applied Physics and Chemistry for Industrial Applications
• Vol. 7 - Establishing and Improving the Reliability Profile

so I need pics that show process plants, manufacturing plants, machines, busted parts, people at work - you get the idea. Please, nothing snipped. I don't want to have to deal with copywrite infringement.

she moved to Vegas! The roofing company called and wanted to know if i was still interested - told them we went with a different company and I asked abour her. They said that she moved to Vegas to pursue a different line of work. Hmmm. Maybe the next time I am in Sin City I will....nah.

You want book cover photos to help sell your ref. books. You want them for NC. Best wishes. One option is to scour the many internet image libraries. Many private individuals submit photos to image libraries hoping to make a sale. Even at that level of non-pro sources, it's no free lunch.

There used to be a guy on our little community here named Doug Zielke. Not sure of the spelling. Canadian. Very nice fellow. He was collecting photos into a file called "Mechanical Mayhem." You can just imagine some of the carnage. At 3000 rpm, crankshafts are making 50 revolutions per second. 100 per second at 6000 rpm. When things come loose at that speed, the result is not pretty.
