About the same, plus ATV trails. Couple of fields, but mostly 23 acres of 30 year old reforested property backing onto a large conservation area.:)

My back yard? 1024sq miles of The Angeles National Forest.

sammyg2 01-16-2012 08:12 AM

Over the years I've seen mice, a couple rats, some possum, and one large mean racoon. Oh and the neighbor's cat. Not zackly wilderness but I've seen a couple of coyotes cruising down the street in front of the house ...

The patsies. :(

A small pond, the remains of a small dirt bike track, a 2500' lg grass runway and a 8' tall x 50' wide dirt shooting backstop. :)

That's pretty awesome Tim - though mowing your yard looks like a nightmare. :)

Wife and daughter knock out the "house yard" in a couple hours on a 60" hydrostat riding mower.....

I mow the runway "yard" in just under two hours using a 1941 Ford 9N pulling a PTO driven 72" finish mower coupled with an auxilary 60" wide offset finish mower with it's own engine out back.... Beer helps;):D

Ha ha..... you are right. In fact our local highschool football team got knocked out late in the state playoffs this year by Hicksville. I live in the same part of the state, but I am closer to Toledo (about 25 miles as the crow flies). The area I live in is all flat farm land divided up by mile square roads. The scenery is pretty bland, but I would not trade the seclusion and freedom of doing what I want to do on my own property for anything. At 45 y/o, I do not think I could stand living in a city, town or subdivision ever again (fortunately my wife feels the same way ;)).

Tim,

Grew up in Grabil, In. We used to drive over the line to Hicksville and drink 3.2 beer at a place called "The Palace". Damn that was fun but now that I am older I wonder how the hell we made it home each night!!!

Moved south a long time ago..... decided I liked salt water better than corn and soy beans!!!

MJC.

That is an awesome view!!! Looks like a good place to own a snowmobile.

I wish we had some of that weather here.... We got maybe an inch of snow a couple days ago and the pond froze over.... Today it was around 40 and it all melted again. This winter sucks!!! I want snow damnit!
