Question What does the job market look like today?

I have WAAAAAYYYY to many reasons for asking this but just wanted to know what yall felt. Not just for me, I know a couple of others who are starting to look around.

Areas:

DFW, greater area not just Metroplex, and North, Northeast Texas.

Colorado

Missouri

Oklahoma (City and Tulsa)

Work Areas:

Manufacturing (especially Pharma and food), Sales, Agri-Business, Sciences (genetics, freeze-dry, chemistry).

I have just been listening to some people in my Wife's circle (seems most are young 20 somethings) as well as for us. You just never know what is around the corner.

Houston: The last major city to enter the recession and the first one out. We're awesome.

Just in case you have no luck in the other areas.

Yep, good economic indicators.

We've mentioned Houston to others. It is a good place to get going and you can live there a bit on the cheap if you try. It is hard to get away from the humidity but I understand and noticed last few times I was there how the weather has changed so significantly.

Wife moved out of Houston once, I did three times. We were both raised there, opposite parts of town from Gilley's, she from the better part....

Land prices waaaay out of sight. Have to land a high paying gig if we were going to live down there. Not saying it couldn't be done.... Have to have a nice backstop ;-)
