LA Motorcycle/Kawi Wrench Needed

Any Pelicans know of a solid (as in as good as a good P car) motorcycle wrench for serious maintenance on a top end Kawi ZX-14 rocket ship? The local place Del Amo Motor Sports are all idiots. I'm in the South Bay PV area. I'm coming up on 15K on my 2006 ZX-14 and the valve clearance check/adjust is serious and involves removing both cams for shim replacement id gap is out of spec.

Thanks .... Rich

Man, if I was closer, I'd help you do it. When I had my ZZR 1200, I thought it was big fun to adjust the valves. You get to take off all sorts of parts to get way in there and see what's going on. It should be basic shim and bucket kind of adjustment. Have you had any mechanic experience? Do you have tools? This might not be a starter project, though. I know, not what you asked about, but just my .02. good luck with the project. cool bike!

I've got two big roll-a-ways stuffed with tools and I do almost all my own P car work. I'm an ME in aerospace so I'm pretty good with hardware and wrenching, but I've never had to dig into a modern hipo motorcycle engine. I've got the factory manual and a real good web based pictorial of the valve check and shim swap but I don't know the tricks of the this one. The throttle bodies should be sync'd at the same time so if I can find a competent Kawi experienced wrench I would just as soon pay to have it done correctly in one day.

I think I'll pm motion and look into his guy.

Thanks .... Rich
