OT - best pick-up truck for under $2500?
I'm about to get rid of Old Faithful - my '87 325is with 241k miles on her. I have a buyer who will pay me $2500. I plan to get a mid-size pick-up truck and would like to keep it under $2500. As there are a lot of DIY's here, I'd like to know what I can get for that money and what I should look for. I've been leaning toward F 150's. What's reliable and easy to work on? Thanks.

you should be able to find a late 80's/early 90's dodge dakota for about that. if you aren't planning on towing it'll do great. the 2.2 and 2.5 engines are real easy and cheap to keep maintained. from 86 and up, all dodge 4 cylinders were virtually identical and very simple, they'd simply switch electronics and cams for the different cars. my turbo omni has the same on, and EVERY junkyard has any major component you may need.

Here is mine, I picked it up 2 1/2 years ago for $300 Canadian thats like $1 US
I put another $400 into it since then Oh by the way I bought it from my brother-in-law, and my father-in-law bought it brand new in 84, so I know the history But for you just get a common truck-Ford, Chev etc that way parts are simple therefore cheap. Shawn
