Gonna see less of me here
Let the cheering begin! Only over the next week, tho...so don't get your hopes up.
You see, Inside Pool magazine has set up a live stream camera over the action room table at the Derby City Classic. That's a week long pool event, top players from all over the country are there. Guess I should say from all around the world...with a strong Philippino presence. It's 3:00 A.M. there now, so the table is empty...the action over until tomorrow. The camera runs 24/7. I've already watched one good money match...teams of two players in the game of one pocket. Kind of low stakes tho..only $100 per man per game...just tuning up, really. Kind of fun to watch the hustlers vs. the tournament pros...and don't kid yerself, some who don't play tournaments are highly skilled. And, some there won't play on the stream table. Yep, they still exist...the road player who prefers to not be known... Inside POOL and Billiards, Ustream.TV: Live streaming pool and billiards programming that features professional pool players, commentators, cameramen, edit... |
Can you load us up with some Mustang threads before you go?

You'd think they would put a blow up doll on the table when not in use....

Good Lord, I just saw where you have 30,000 posts. I thought I spent way too much time here.
I wonder what you (or I) would do if there was no Internet. |
this is cool
a friend has a snooker table, much moore chalenging table to play on. |
What you see on this table is between tournament matches...people in the "practice room", playing for $$$$. Hustling, in other words. Last night, I had the pleasure of watching a guy called "scooter" go "fishing"... not playing at his top speed, setting up future money games for more money. This speculated on by people in the chat feature who have been around the game for a long time.
Lots of money changing hands here. I don't play for money, but it's fun to watch & learn... No pocket cheating on a snooker table, gotta be in dead punch, roll 'em straight in. More challanging? I don't think so, just a different game...once you learn to aim well, both are needing a good skill set. |
Many years ago I was at my brother's house when his buddy showed up. He wanted to go get a beer at a dive pool hall called Charlie Brown's. The buddy was a pool hustler big time. He was playing right handed and was just stringing along some mark. Finally the mark was about done so the hustler said "I tell ya what I will play left handed so you can have a chance to win back all your money" The mark cashed a check at the bar and they played one last game. The hustler was a natural left handed player. He was good enough to beat the guy just enough to win and we got out of there alive. I was never so nervous in my life. And I was just watching.
