One of the coolest cars I have driven...

but not owned. I have stolen this thread idea from coolest cars seen. It was an Austin Healy 3000 that I test drove back in the late 60's. It had a bit of rust but enjoyed the noise, the ride, the heavy clutch. Drawbacks were low ground clearance due to the muffler. Did not buy it but bought a Triumph TR3 instead. Any of you out there tried a car but did not buy it but still maybe wish you had:(

Hmm, i think the coolest car that I've driven was my old 911.

I have driven a Seat 850. I don't know that I consider it cool though.

1967 911S in Spain. Red sun roof coupe. Black interior. Had it for a weekend to see if I wanted to buy. Great fun. Can't remember why I didn't buy but boy do I regret it.

Masraum - At the time my dd was a seat 850 spyder. It made my old 912 seem powerful.

Another misread thread. And to think no one wants to hire an old man. At least I can follow instructions. How do you guys get by?

I bought it in 1972 while in the USMC for $1,750. About the price of a used Pinto or Vega. It burned a quart of oil every 30 miles, the leather was like dried cardboard and the paint, rubber chrome were trash. I bought it in the UK from a British Colonel who bought it in the Sudan. It now belongs to the Prime Minister of Kuwait. His buyer had seen it at a concours in Pasadena, CA and asked me if I was interested in selling it. I said "maybe" he took a few pics and said that if his client was interested, he'd call me in a week. No PPI. He paid me stupid money for it in cash, as in his representative showed up at my bank with a brief case stuffed with $100 bills.

When I was a kid, we had an Austin Healy 3000 as a family car. No lie.

I leatned how to drive in my mom's Triumph TR6. Of course I drive my 914-6. Now that I work at a high end shop, I drive some really cool stuff but mostly just around the lot.
