Is Ovechkin a douche for boycotting the All-Star game?

He got suspended for 3 days for an illegal hit so he refuses to play in the All-Star game.

if a player is suspended and it runs around the allstar game he should have been told he was not to go. Just as if the questionable hit was on the last game of the year it would carry into the payoffs.

Players should look at the games including the allstar game as a privelige.

The official rule in the NHL is that the suspension doesn't carry into the All-Star game. He was still invited to come.

Maybe. Hockey is a team sport and if you can't play a supporting role even when someone else gets the limelight then you won't be very popular with the rest of the team. Ovi has a ton of skill but I don't see where he pulls the rest of the team up. His tenure as captain doesn't have a great record.
