I'd walk her home. Outside of that, someone has to watch the paint dry.

Thank God spring training is starting in just over two weeks! I've been going through serious baseball withdrawal.
I need some new games to take my mind off of Game 6 of the World Series...

Hope spring eternal at the beginning of baseball season, alas I cheer for the Astros. Heretofore to be known as the Lastros when we join the AL next season. Thas is going to take some serious adjusting on my part as I have always been a no DH person.
Play Ball!

Football appears to have more action because on TV they replay almost every play about 3 times from 4 different angles. There really arent that many exciting moments in Football. Usually it is 3 yards and a cloud of dust...replayed ad nauseum. You rarely see something interesting like a Flea Flicker or a Double Reverse, or a half back option pass, or an 80 yard run for a touchdown or a long pass into the end zone for a touchdown. Mostly a bunch of big fat guys running into each other. And lots of replays of that sort of "exciting action". And Football has endless substitutions, players who cant play offense AND defense, "speciallty" players with very limited skills, etc. And a 16 game regular season schedule with about half of the league getting into the playoffs doesnt really prove who is the best team. The only thing I give the NFL credit for is the excellent marketing job they have done. Kind of like NASCAR is to Auto Racing. Its a show. Lots of Hype. An excuse to advertise and sell beer and pick up trucks.

![]() I shouldnt single out Football. Lets talk Basketball...lots of moving around so I guess that is "excitment". But really you only need to watch the last 2 minutes of the game. There is something wrong with a sport that has scores of like 110 to 98. Scoring is to easy. (I forgot to mention, I am not a Football or Basketball fan. ![]() Last edited by Wilhelm; 02-06-2012 at 10:31 PM.. |
