Sad, Sad day :(
Kinda feel like I've taken a couple hard blows to the gut lately but thats life right? You have no other choice but to pick yourself back up, brush it off and get on back to life, but this one hurts. My '64 on a flatbed, Sold. It'll be going to a safe storage location while arrangments are made to transport it to it's new owner.
![]() ![]() I guess the good news is I'll get a trip to the dessert to deliver the engine and all the pieces that go with it and pick up some cash. Damn this one hurts. ![]()

I understand, but a major project amongst turmoil is impossible. Clean and clear out. Focus and succeed.

I know you have your reasons for all the changes lately, but I can see how this one would sting a little more then the others.
You can always buy another, and I'm pretty sure if you were jonesing to wrench on one you could get your fix pretty easily. Maybe a nice long kayak trip out in the bay would be a nice change this weekend? Hang in there buddy!

It hurts to see a car you think a lot of go away in a trailer...yeah it does.
But guess what? Life can and often does get better afterwards...it's a bit of emotional purging, and what once was a burden is off your back..

You are not alone. Many of us have had to cut their girl loose at some point. All you can do is wish her a safe landing somewhere where she will be loved and pampered.
Cheers! ![]()

ouch, I sold a car that was kinda known as my calling card. drove it for 400k miles. it hurt.
I sold my sons vw bug that we bought together to be his first car & project. I sold it due to him changing his mind on living with me and moving 1,600 miles away to live with his mom. he, I had a lot of plans for the car, not much got done. THAT hurt more.

You bought it as a basket case and never got it running, right? That sucks. I certainly know the feeling of selling stuff that you don't want to sell.

Let us know if you can help. If you are coming over to this desert to drop the parts off let us know when and where and will get together!

No It was a running car when it came to me. It was in need of a lot of work but it was complete. I've done a lot of body work on it(all of it being metal work=NO FILLERS)

Gogar, I don't know why you deleted your post but you're right. I am lucky to think these are problems. I could have a 4year old with cancer or could have recently lost my wife to an unexpected illness or even be helplessly be watching my sister in law pass. Those are real and life changing events. My problems are petty in comparison. But I live my life in my skin and my problems are just that, my problems. I'm also lucky enough to have a couple friends here who when I hang my heart on my sleeve, they offer me support and encouragement and sometimes solutions to my problems. Yes indeed, I'm lucky.

Business hasn't been great for me Kevin, but I have an advanced skill set, and I always seem to have work, even if it is not at the level I used to have. Know anybody like that ?
Once you figure out what your adjustment needs to be, you can get your head freed up, and get out there and Kick A$$. Get real about what people need from you in today's economy, and provide it. 20 years ago, if you had that car and didn't want to part with it, what would you have done ? Nothing wrong with downsizing, but remember, You Choose. Choose to win. |

I let one go a few years back that I regret but it had to go. It will get better. We all have to make decisions that are unpalatable in our lives but that is life.
As others have said, grab you some "me" time and take a deep breath.

Damn Kevin...
It was great seeing you on Friday. This too shall pass and you will be back in the saddle before long. I think that trip to Puget sound is in order. Take a couple of months to clear your head and recharge. The world will be here when you get back...
