Anyone Know SIG716 Precision Marksman Rifle
Looking for a 7.62X51 / .308 autoloader Found this one.
I'm a sig pistol fan, but no experance with this rifle. Any one have one? Your thoughts? http://www.sigsauer.com/upFiles/aboutus/news/SIG716%20Tactical%20Rifles.pdf |
Hell, that's not badly priced either. 2199 USD for the Precision Marksman variant.
Might work as a backup plan if the import for the M1a falls through. http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/w...rksman-tfb.jpg |
"The SIG716 rifles are gas-piston operated with a 3 round-position (4-position optional) gas valve – a design that keeps the receiver free of firing residue for optimum reliability under adverse conditions and
extended firing" Does that mean that the bolt is pushed back by a rod as opposed to exhaust gas? Basically an AK design, yes? |
Wow, that looks like a beast and since buying my 238 im a huge sig fan.

As I understand it, the gas pushed the piston and the helps get the dirty exhaust gases out of the bolt area...
