I work with someone who's soon to be ex-son-in-law bought (or so he thought) a Ducati by money order. It was a few years ago , could have been same bike or monster , don't remember.

It will go something like this. He will turn out to be in the navy or something, only available by satellite phone not in person, got deployed unexpectedly, got to get it out of his uncles garage fast hence the cheap price, just wire me the money and I'll send you the bike. No you cant see it in person, my uncle is very sick blah blah, a buddy of mine will arrange to ship it blah blah.... before vanishing off the face of the year. Something like that.

I guess the true test would be to try and view it. You wont be able to.

My wife got conned into a deal sounded almost exactly like that...

Fortunately I was supplying the funds and said NO WAY!

On the other hand some people buy motorcycles... scare the poop out of themselves... and dump the bike for cheap just to get rid of it (and the bad memories) quick.
