Taking the motor home to Yellowstone area
Framework for summer vaca is starting to materialize.
Looking at taking the RV up to Yellowstone. Any advice from the brain trust? I am going to be towing a jeep so we can set camp and explore from a home base. I saw an area called Jackson Lake between the Tetons and Yellowstone that might be a good jumping of point. |
We were there last May or was it June? It was the second week the park opened. Both my wife and I enjoy the drive so much more going to the Tetons. Jackson Lake was beautiful. We stayed at a friend's time share in West Yellowstone for 8 days. By the 5th day, we were looking for things to do. I tell you this, I was pretty much tired of the food in West Yellowstone. We took a drive down to the Tetons, and found Jackson to be a really nice town / city. We ate at the first Mexican restaurant we found. It was great. Do eat at the Yellowstone Lodge. The food is great. Yellowstone is pretty, but just a giant rolling hills that goes on and on. Yosemite or Tahoe is much prettier, I think.

my brother did exactly this!! he took a pop trailer, a girl and two dogs. the photos were excellent. i remember a photo of him and his great dane, and wire hair pointer in front of old faithful.
heads up. they are very strict about "bear" measures. my brother almost got a ticket for leaving out the dog's water bowl. they take that stuff seriously.. i hope to take my wife soon. |
we have 2 little parakeets or something of that nature.
Maybe I'll bring them and leave them out on purpose... Did I say that in my out loud voice:) |
