Art Z..ammo pics for you
Remember the brass you sent? Here it is loaded. Now running 750 grain V-max Bullet, 213 Grains of Hodgens BMG 50 Powder. Kevin is VERY happy with the excellent Brass...
1st pic is reload vs. factory...reload has the silver tip. ![]() Next up...Kevin holding a reload ![]() And finally, for the "black gun" boys here...50 on left, a little popgun .223 round on the right. Kind of looks like a .22 rimfire vs. a .338 Win. Mag., eh???

Very cool! I'm glad your friend put that brass to good use! I couldn't bear the thought of scrapping it and I knew someone here would want it. Please tell the "Chief" that I said "Bravo Zulu"!! Thanks for posting the pics.

Will do, Art! Kevin's goal with this load is "one hole" 3 shot groups at 500 yards...
He's thrilled with the brass, said it was tough to find brass of this quality.

Just think, the guy shot used the brass was going to throw it out until my brother-in-law intervened and saved it for me.

Please pass the word he can toss that once fired brass this way any time at all!
Just a lovely group of coincidences that worked out very well for all involved. Again, many thanks! (edit) Forgot to mention...Nosler brand "bullitts". Made right here in Oregon.

Red, Kevin has a Barrett...he's really "into" the gun thing...has the license for full rock n' roll, owns a variety of those as well. Really a straight arrow guy...member of the school board of his small town...etc. His Brother is the Federal Marshall of Oregon. Just likes guns like some here like Porsches.
Yours looks like fun! .50 has to be a kick in the butt...well, the shoulder?

wow sounds like has it made.
Yeah this one kicks pretty bad. there are no recoil buffer springs or anything on it. so the full recoil is sent right to your shoulder Its a bullpup shell holder design bolt action, the barrel is 36 inches long and match grade. I love guns but it's an expensive hobby |

Boy howdy on expensive! Kevin once told me he goes through about 35 pounds of powder per year...I'm sure he has as much money in his guns as many here have in their P-cars and guns combined. Full rock & roll has to be a very expensive hobby. The license alone isn't cheap...

The last time I calculated it, the cost to reload .50BMG was about 1/2 that of purchasing commercial ammo. Still expensive at $2.50 a pop!

Not just .50. I once went to a full auto shoot at the club I belong to...couldn't help but think of the $$$ being spent as a guy was shooting a .30 caliber machine gun...heck, even the Uzi's were eating the $$$.
