best way to sell on ebay- question

i noticed on ebay today that 1 box of (expired) polaroid 600 film sold for $63. Well, i have more than 40 boxes of it.

if i sold it 1 box at a time and got that much for each box....well, thats a new Gretsch Power Jet guitar that im lusting after :D

I think selling it 1 box at a time would take a year. and if i list each box separately at once, thats 40+ auctions and them im flooding the market and decreasing demand and decreasing the potential sale price

im thinking i should list the entire Lot for a discounted price but fairly steep reserve

anyone with similar experience selling multiple items on ebay with an opinion on how to approach this? thanks

You can set up a multiple item, fixed price listing on eBay - I've done that where I had purchased a large lot of NOS engine rebuild stuff.

Link to some VW bearings I have:

Similar to your polaroid film, it was mostly NLA stuff that may take a while to sell.
I set up the listing with a fixed price per unit - anytime one (or a few in one transaction) sells, you get an e-mail with the details. Kind of a list it and forget it thing. I think it costs .20/mo for the listing + any final sales values eBay assesses

thats a good idea. i do have a problem with that as i have multiple boxes with different expiration dates so cant group them all together...i could group them by exp year i guess. better than 40 separate auctions

thanks!

If you add that information (range of expiration dates) to your listing so buyers are informed it might still work. Good luck.

If buyers are paying 60 plus a box there must be quite a demand so I don't think 40 boxes will flood the market. That being said I might start with 10 seperate auctions and see what happens then make a decision about how to sell the rest..

good luck

have you tried any of the photos special sites to sell your gear on
Sell Your Digital & Film Cameras, Lenses & Accessories - KEH.com
comes to mind.

i get lots of 35mm gear from them. my BIL turned me on to them.

I would do the multiple item auction, then just state the date range you have and say "Newest stuff sent first" as a carrot to buy early and buy a lot!

And do NOT use stock pictures, take your own and take multiples, for some reason people like pictures.

thanks for all the suggestions. i was hoping to just sell the whole bunch at once and make one big chunk without having to do all the separate boxing and running to ups...but ill have to do some more thinking about it. i realize the chances of getting someone to pay 2 grand at once is slim
