No.... I would have asked questions before ordering.

That's a weird one.

Thing about food is a lot of it is perception.

I don't like mushrooms. It's not so much the taste. Not a fan of the texture but that's not it either. In my head if you took a garden slug and ran it thru a meat slicer that's what it would look like. Can't get past that.

I like eggs but every now and again I think of what they are and get a little nauseous.

I can see someone eating something not knowing what it is, liking it but still being physically revolted after finding out what it was.

I think the restaurant should make it clear what the ingredient is. While the name is clever what if they do something similar with an ingredient that a patron may be severely allergic to.

I wonder if she believes that oysters grow in the rocky Mountains, as well?

C'mon, the Pizza was names the "Bleu Ball" with "Swinging Steak" as the ingredient... How obvious does it have to be?

stomachmonkey 02-20-2012 07:15 PM

A Bleu Ball is an appetizer made with Bleu cheese. Cheese is an ingredient in pizza. Could be a pizza made with Bleu Cheese.

There is a cut of beef called Hanger Steak and it it's not testicles.

Without googling do you know what cuts Spencer Steak, Veiny Steak, Jiffy Steak, Philadelphia Steak, Knuckle Steak, Fish Steak are?

If she was unsure she should have asked, no question, it's what I do when I see an ingredient that I don't recognize.

I imagine the restaurant would serve less Blue Ball if what it is were clearer.

Owner admits the server is supposed to inform the customer. If it were obvious there would be no need for that would there?

OMG! Does that mean my szechuan beef with prairie oyster sauce had, had .... y'know... on it?

LOL

A930Rocket 02-20-2012 08:12 PM

Sounds like sour grapes to me. I might not be happy, but I wouldn't call the media about it.

KaptKaos 02-20-2012 08:54 PM

I'm going to regret this.... but...

I am sure she's had worse in her mouth.
