Guitar Porn

Some of the members here are familiar with what I do as a "day job". I build guitars.

But for those that aren't, here is a slide show of some of my work, for when you get tired of looking at "Porsche porn" and want some "Guitar porn".

Just click on the picture and it will take you to the slideshow.

Here's one I did for one of our fellow Pelicans. This pic is in it's final assembly stage, hence the missing screws.

Nice work, Roman. Glad to see you back around these parts. You make it back to L.A. at all? It would be nice to catch up.

The finish on my LP is just about the same as that one, but I can never get it to show right in photos. Ditto for my ES-335. Photos don't do them justice.

Nice work, I stay lower though.

This one should show up next week: flame koa over alder, Brazillian rosewood fingerboard.

I got this one week before last, picked it up from Rob's shop. It is a phenomenal bass. walnut over alder, walnut/ebony 5-piece neck, ebony fingerboard.

Thanks man. I show up from time to time in LA. I still have a lot of roots there after 30 years. Next time I'm in town I'll give you a call, unless you have changed your number, I should still have it.

They can be a bit tricky to photograph.

Thanks. Your basses look great. I go low too, just most of my clients want guitars.

could this one have been gold at one time?

Here is a famous one I had a hand in. It was owned by Steve hunter from Lou Reed and Alice cooper, and then Slash. He used it throughout the early days in the La club scene and original demos for welcome to the jungle with Spencer Proffer.

It got sold and went missing for a long time, and then the book Reckless Roads came out and I tracked down the current owner. (actually he tracked me down.)

Now it resides in the Rock and Roll hall of fame museum.

Yep, that's a '53. I sold that one about a month ago. The only guitars I have left are the '56 Esquire, the '59 Singlecut TV, and a J45.
