I got a Fein shop vac. It's very nice, and with the floor brush, it makes a nice indoor vacuum. Every bit as good as a Dyson, and this puppy does double duty in the garage too.

Get the floor brush. The rotating brush turns on automatically when you take the attachment out of it's resting position. It's sort of a man's Electrolux. And if you get the Hepa filter, then there is no difference between the Fein and Electrolux, other than the Fein will suck up water, and has a 5 gallon capacity. |
Thx - I just ordered the floor brush.
Tell me about the HEPA filter... does it go in the basket? the basket in the body of the vac? mine is an old one - maybe one of the first Feins imported into the US... I jumped right on it when I saw the thing - German + shop vac = Great |
Oh I see. I don't know how old that unit would be. Mine has a "smart plug" that the brush unit plugs into on the vacuum body. Your reasoning is sound re: German engineering. Mine is very quiet - probably the quietest shop vac on the market today.
The HEPA filter bolts onto the motor section inside the bucket. I just checked the prices, and they are down at least 40% from when I bought mine. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1330482397.jpg |
yow! $100 bucks!
I'll just stick it outside and use the long hose inside - works well & cuts the noise, which is already low well, I hope we have convinced everyone else to throw away their Dysons |
